  1. Technology is in its triumph. And it forces me to cease at a moment and think about its unlimited dimensions. The tools for collaborative writing and working together even when someone is in far off place, is mind boggling. I, myself, use wikis, Google sites and drive etc for these purposes and it happens to be fruitful all the time. It’s saves time, energy and most importantly paper.
But I think that writer would have made a stronger point after quoting new or different examples. For instance, Prezi, Sky Drive, DropBox etc. One of the apps launched by Google, ‘Chrome Remote Desktop’ is such an advanced app that your team member can work with you on your laptop/desktop from his system while sitting at his place. It allows you to access someone’s computer remotely obviously with the administrator’s permission. Sometimes, it’s very difficult to communicate what you want and here this apps jumps in.

  2. There are tonnes of softwares today, application based, web-based and others, so much so that thy have started crowding the general public, I mean, there’s three to four different types of softwares that serve the same purpose, like the remote desctop mentioned above, there are 4 to 5 of those application around and most of them are exactly the same. My point here is that though these features do tend to help us out, their variety and sheer increase in number since the past 6-7 years is something to be measured and kept an eye on.

  3. I like this article because in this article the writer has tell us that how the internet tools has became collabatrating writing easier. I like specialy the parts where the writer has explain how we can use these tools like Wiki, google docs and entherpad. And the best thing about this aricle is that writer has also explain when we can use that tools. I whould prfer to use google sites for collarative writings because it is easy to use specially for that people who dont much know how to use teachnongoly.

  4. drafts. confusion. multiple emails.
I’ve resolutely learnt that all of the above can be avoided during collaborative writing if tools like Wikis, Google Sites and Google Docs [which I must say from hands-on experience, is extremely easy and beneficial] are employed.

Infact, the way the author gives enlists and elaborates the technology that can be put to use for the very purpose of writing in collaboration with others was quite inspiring – actually provoking enough to make me check out EtherPad instantaneously.

Such innovations in the IT world are verily replacing the pen and paper, saving enormous energy and – however a question still looms my mind – is such technological advancement making humans more productive, or creeping indolence into our lives?

  6. i think these wikis, sites, docs are very fruitful in collaborative writing. first of all it saves our time and energy for sure because we don’t need to read book page by page, we can easily use wiki books available for any subject or topic. And also wikis are available anytime anywhere. the tools described in this article have made technology easier for students especially because they can collaborate with their other team members on a project, group assignment or anything. these tools no doubt are replacing use of papers but its time saving and more convenient for everyone. Google sites are very helpful because we can get all information about specific thing at one place, also we can write and share our own ideas and suggestions on Google sites with our mates.

  7. I like the post because these information is beneficial for us. Truly, it’s really hard to collaborate with your team members one by one. you need a forum where you can collaborate with each other at a same time and these kinds of sites help you to do all writing activities. Hopefully, it will make our lives easier.
