How Blogging can catalyze learning

By Aadil Raza Ch.

why_blog_wordleI have had the pleasure of reading through the article that advocates the benefits of incorporating the blog posting by the students to compliment their educational venture. I have myself been a consistent blogger at several blogging platforms and reading this article, I realize that usage of blogs from students will largely help the in the process where they get educated.

Blog posts can help students express their feelings, whether personal or how they feel about a particular topic, the teacher or the other mates and their responses to the lectures taught by the teachers.

Blog posting also helps students learn how to organize and better their blogs and so their lives. But, the questions that is constantly popping in my mind is that whether constantly expressing what they feel about the course or the teacher or else would give rise to any heated feelings or trigger grudges among the students or the other members of the class?

  1. Hmm,Its true sometimes people misuse the blogs.they start releasing their frustration on blogs and commented against their mates and teachers which create heated feelings and grudges among them. So,I think its totally depend on us that, how we use this facility.we have to ask question from us first and use this for educational and learning purposes, not for discussing personal issues and fights!

  2. Use and misuse of anything totally depends on us. If something is being misused that does not mean that there is some fault in that facility instead it means that the fault is in us. We should first know how to use a particular facility. I think the need is teach people to use such facilities that most of us do not know. When we shall know that for what purpose a facility is, we won’t be misusing it rather it would be fruitful for us to excel in education and in life. Blogging can make us effective and critical thinker but for this we will have to learn to response objectively instead of taking out our grudges. It is helpful for those who cannot express their views face to face.

  3. aadil, i would partially agree with you again, and yes, the extent to which i do is large that blogging can create or give rise to feelings that are not very productive in the teacher student relation. Yeah !! it surely can happen. BUT ! , this is the actual theme or say it should be because for a better educational process or the dissemination, it is vitally important for teachers to know what the students think about them and their pedagogy. I can very well relate it to my experience as I had a lot of difficulties in comprehending what my teachers were instructing, but I could not make them realize that I needed to be instructed in a different manner. AND if i could have blogs available that time, 6 or 7 years back, I may have made them realize or at least told them that I needed their help which i was shy or fearfull telling them face to face. Still, I believe that blogging is important and it must be adopted widely by the students and the teachers.

  4. Well it’s an imperative notion to utilize the facility of blogging by students as it immensely assists students to form a routine to upgrade themselves by writing blogs. Keeping the comparative advantage between the dilemma of grudges formed by internal feelings and benefit gained by using blogs, I’d prefer to ignore such complications and try to envision the positive side which can be attained by using blogs.

  5. There are always positive and negative aspects of everything. In case of blogging used by students, positive aspects clearly outweighed negative ones. Their likes and dislikes may generate anger and hatred in some cases but that will be for the greater good. . Teachers will then make sure not to let their reputation down. In blogging, people should understand that the information is subjective and readers should use their own discretion. Through blogs new students can learn from the experience of older students. They can understand the dynamics and future scope of the particular subject. They can benefit from the experience of past students which can open new horizons for them.

  6. Well, learning by using blog is an effective tool, but if it is use in positive way. with the help or blog students can post according to their interest or they can share useful information. but if we talk about students, they are not allowed to post any bad comment. because it cause issues between students and teacher as well. sometimes students start arguing with each other. but we have to ignore that type of comments and keep posting new things.

  7. Yes its such a nice platform for students where they can express their feelings, thoughts and whatever they want. This is a way where they give their views without any hesitation and any fear. But students should use this platform in a right way, they should not misuse it.First of all facilitate those who do not know how to use it and whats the benefit of it then there is no space of misusing it,
